T-Ball Time!

It T-Ball time again!  Ben absolutely loves to play baseball... hitting is his favorite however for those of you that know him.... throwing is a passion too!  This year Nathan was really showing an interest too... and his skills have gotten better too!  This year I felt like T-Ball was truly for them... not something we were hauling them to.
Waiting on the bench for his turn... he was pretty much the smallest one out their:)

Our favorite Left handed batter!

Nathan ready to go!

Team Blue Octopus

Nathan: Age 4

Benjamin: Age 4

Parents vs Kids night!

Always with each other... I can't imagine what it would have been like to share every moment with someone exactly your age.  Most days they love each other... but some times a little space is good!

Mommy finally got smart and started taking batting photos of Ben from the other side of the field!

Running bases!

Auntie Christine and Uncle Stephen came to cheer!

Getting into this fielding thing!

One last team cheer!

Ice cream cones on the last day!
They insisted on wearing pants so their knees didn't get scraped up!

The last days....

Peace of Mind
Nathan and Benjamin started at POM in March of 2013. I always knew that POM was a good place and that the teachers there loved our children... and took good care of them.  What I was unprepared for was the community that they were apart of.  Brent was more often then not the one that dropped them off and picked them up.  We heard many stories from Nathan and Benjamin over the course of the last 14 months about their teachers, their friends and the fun that they were having. As summer was approaching and with a new baby on the horizon we felt that it would be easier to have a nanny at our house for the summer... plus then they could play in the backyard, go to the pool and parks. So as May drew to a close we prepared the boys for their last day at POM (I'm not sure that they totally understood that they wouldn't be coming back).  WE brought in treats for their classes, Ben picked out Oreos for the Red Fish room and Nathan picked out fruit snacks for the Blue Fish room.  They were excited for their treats and excited for their last day.  I was completely unprepared for how emotional I would be on their last day.... Ms. Christy took such good care of our stubborn, funny, spirited, opinionated and loving little Benjamin. Ben often told us how ms. Christy rubbed his back at nap time while he fell asleep, and how ms. Christy puts on his sunscreen and never gets it in his eyes or how he was ms. Christy's special helper of the day.  Ms. Dana was never far from Nathan's stories either.  Nathan often gave ms. Dana hugs, and spoke of his favorite friends at POM: Brody and Aiden. Both boys loved bike days at school, playing in the gym, they both had yellow POM blankets that they napped with each day.  As Brent and I picked the boys up from POM on their last day I could not hold back the tears... this was a good place, the boys had grown so much in their time there.... their teachers had shared in the joys and challenges of the last 14 months, we trusted them with our hearts!  On the last day, each of their classes presented them with books "Why we will miss Benjamin" and "Why we will miss Nathan." and as we were getting ready to leave... packing the last of their things, all of their friends circled around them for final hugs.  I hate the end of things.... it was so cute and so sweet and I was so proud of each of them for their strength, their friendship and the little lives that they had created for themselves at POM.  I can't begin to imagine what it will feel like when they leave for college.  So, Thank you POM for being such a wonderful part of our lives.... who knows maybe we will be back some day:)

We stopped to say hi to TC!

It is always a fun day... and always a good reminder of how truly lucky and blessed we are!

Ben's FAVORITE part was the air blowing jukebox that blew stars all over... plus they won an  "Olaf the snowman" magnet!

The blow up slides were a hit!

Nathan's favorite part was playing with the spinning plates!

Looking so BIG next to the tiny isolette that they once called home!

Thank you Children's for taking such good care of the little men in my life!  We are honored to be apart of your NICU alumni and I'm beyond blessed to be surrounded by these people as my colleagues and friends!
