A Sad State of Affair....

120 hours of Whining, crying, runny nose, watery eyes and coughing.... Mr. U and I are tired!  These two little boys are giving us a run for our money!  They are walking like champs and are into everything and the icing on the cake is the fact that they are sick!

 Into the cabinets..

Really cute but look at the sad nose

Ben's little sick eyes

Nathan walking around with his blanket... he looks like Linus!!!

Mommy... I don't feel good!

Into the dog toys...

Benjamin dancing!

Again with the cabinets....  (sigh!)

One of my good friends told me that after her kids went to bed the other night, she made peanut butter cookies.... you know, a way to de-stress!  So, Brent went to the gym and Ben and Nathan "helped" me make peanut butter chocolate chip cookies... you know a way to de-stress!

We are sooooooo ready for SUMMER!!!!
Much love,

One Year Ago...

February 26th 2010 changed our lives forever.... yup we got a Mini van.... oh yeah and Benjamin came home from the hospital!  It seemed as though we had waited for our two little boys FOREVER.  And now here we are... one year later!  Where does the time go... we now have  Running, jumping, clapping, waving,  utensil using, bath tub standing little boys!  At times we are stressed and tired... and other times we laugh at the joy that these two little people have brought to our lives.
What a crazy year this first year as a family has been!

The MN Zoo and other adventures

Is winter over yet????  I had the whole week off, so it was up to me to think up some fun for the boys and I.  We went to Rosedale, had lunch with Gramma, played with our girlfriend Gianna, played with our ECFE friends, went to class and went to the MN Zoo... wow, I'm tired just thinking of all that!  The boys also continue to keep us on our toes!!!  They decided that unrolling toilet paper is their new favorite activity!!!  Nathan and Benjamin are both walking on their own and running behind their push toys.  The boys have started to fight over toys and have opinions about what they eat, where they play and they would truly prefer to never have their diapers or clothes changed!  Both boys love to throw their food off their trays .... because your know Berkeley is starving....   however anything that mom and dad are eating they think they should have!!!!  They have mastered the fine art of drinking from a Camelback water bottle... thanks Matt and Grace for the baby water bottles:) They love them!!!!  Oh what fun it is to watch these two little boys, grow and learn and discover the world around them!
Hope that everyone had a great week!
Love always

Mama Milk Truck

After 13 months... I'm FINALLY done pumping!  Yeah!!!   I'm so PUMPED (pardon the pun) :)
For those of you that have been anxiously awaiting the totals of my pumping escapades  here we go....

Average ounces per pumping : 8oz
Average ounces per day: 40oz
Average Onces per month: 1203 ounces
Highest Pump in one day: 59 oz
Highest ounces per single pumping: 19 oz

GRAND TOTAL : 15, 639  ounces in 13 Months.

To get a little perspective,  a 1 gallon container of milk = 128 ounces
This means that I have pumped 122....1gallon containers of milk.... GROSS:)

Brent is always looking for ways to cut costs and save us money... so I did a little math!!!!!
1 Container of Neosure Infant Formula (which is the formula the boys would have been on ) cost $15.49 according to Target.com so had I not pumped we would have spent: $2,788.20 on formula.
So, as I figure it Mr. U owes me an even $3,000 ... you know for PUMPING and labor :)
Just a little FOOD for thought!

Happy Valentines Day 2011 and 13 Months!

What a difference a year makes!!!  Last year on this day we had one very tiny 5 pound baby at home with us and one even tinier baby in Special Care Nursery at Abbott... thank goodness it is a year later!

The boys are great!  We have two walkers on our hands... watch out world:)  I was at work this weekend when I received the following text from Brent
"Nathan can climb out of the tub by himself!  Thats my boy!   You can only hope to contain us honey!"  There has to be a good reason that God gave me all these BOYS... I haven't figured it out yet!  Nathan and Benjamin laugh often at each other... they are best friends and will look for each other if the other is not around!  They love being out and about, going to ECFE and having playdates with their buddies!  Both boys have been great eaters this month... we are hoping to continue to pack on the pounds to little Mr. Benjamin!  Both boys love touch and feel books, dancing/listening to music and playing with toys.  The best new game... "throw everything out of our cribs!"  They squeal with joy when Berkeley comes into the room and no meal is complete if they can't "feed themselves" with a spoon!   Life is busy... but good!  We are looking forward to Spring but definitely not wishing away this precious and oh so fun time with our TWO FAVORITE VALENTINES!
Love Always

Cheerios and Milk!

As many of you know... I like things neat... or at least I did before I had Twins!!! Feeding time at our house is always a little chaotic and very messy!  After a little encouragement from my ECFE friends... I decided to give Benjamin and Nathan Cheerios with milk and a spoon.... wow the babes are growing up!  BRING ON THE MESS:) I was shocked when the boys picked up the spoons and began to eat all on their own!  Eventually the milk was dumped but it was fun while it lasted.  Breakfast is all new now!!!!
We hope all is well
