Preschool Screening: A couple of weeks ago Nathan and Benjamin were scheduled for their Preschool screening. For some reason I was worried.... I'm not sure what I thought they were going to ask them.... geometry, latin, Chinese, something we hadn't taught them. Well I should relax.... they both did GREAT! Hearing and vision... Pass and Pass. Hoping, jumping, skipping...Passed! Stacking blocks, drawing pictures... what else do you have???? Funny story....Benjamin was asked "a door is made out of wood, a window is made out of....?" His response ... "Plastic" The teacher looked at me .... do you have 3M plastic over your windows??? "yup over our patio door!" She said she has at least one kid a week in the winter say plastic! Seems fitting since Daddy works at 3M! So, they are ready for Kindergarten.... I'm so proud of them but in the mean time we will enjoy the time with our very favorite preschoolers.
4 year Well Child Check at Central Pediatrics-Woodbury:
The boys LOVE Dr. Strong and it is never hard to get them to the doctors office. This year they were very concerned with whether or not they were getting shots. I honestly didn't know.... so I told them to ask doctor Strong. Always the buddies, they negotiated who was going first for the blood pressure, weight, vision and hearing. Nathan even said "Its ok Ben, you can go first!" When Dr. Strong walked into the room and asked how the boys were.... Ben immediately said "excuse me Dr. Strong but do we need shots?" She responded with... lets talk about it at the end. The boys talked about their favorite foods, how they get dressed and zip their coats by themselves, hopped and jumped, named all the colors in the room, counted to 20 (skipping 15 as usual!) and talked about preschool and Peace of Mind. Both boys have been pretty healthy this winter... so there wasn't much to talk about on that front. Nathan is in the 75%tile and Benjamin is in the 25%tile. Nathan just grew a bunch... I would expect Ben to grow in the next week or two! In the end they both got their MMR shots... to which Benjamin replied, "I wont cry, but Naynay will!" An his stubbornness paid off.... no tears from Ben and only a few whines from Nathan. It was a successful trip, complete with a shirt full of stickers!
Dental Visit: The boys also LOVE the DDS. Its hard not too.... they have arcade games in the waiting room, TVs and sunglasses in the rooms and balloons on the way out! Nathan picked bubble gum tooth paste and watermelon Flouride....suprise suprise! Benjamin picked cookie dough tooth paste and Cherry floride... again suprise suprise. The hit of this visit was the water you spray in your mouth and the very special water sucker! They both thought we should buy a water sucker for our house! No cavities, they are both doing a great job keeping their teeth clean. Questions from mom: 1) is nathan's front tooth ok after his face plant fall two winters ago.... yup it looks great, nothing to worry about. 2). Ben grinds his teeth at night on occasion.... the teeth look great!, doesn't look like a chronic issue and more then likely it had to do with either a cold or ear infection.
I think we have done all the poking, proding, question asking and appointments that we need for awhile! Check that all off the list:)
