We were at the apple orchard playing on the playground when Nathan got hit in the face with a 6 foot culvert that was suspended and swinging. Probably not a good toy at the park. Lots of blood later we left and headed for Children's Hospital St. Paul!
They were quick to give him pain meds for the cut. These numbed the area and needed to sit on him for 45 minutes before they could stitch him up. Thankfully the bleeding stopped pretty quickly.
It was a deep gash.
The medicine worked like a charm. There were no tears with the stitches. He read a book, played with a ball, watched a show and ate his Popsicle. It was amazing!
4 stitches on the bottom and 7 over the top. Poor little guy!
The nurse practitioner that put them in was awesome!
He was so brave and we were so proud of him!
