This Christmas as filled with a special kind of joy as the boys were filled with anticipation and excitement. We were invited to go to Christmas Eve mass at Sacred Heart Church with the Williams Family. My cousin Peter is a gifted musician who plays the piano and also had a singing solo for Christmas. The boys were so good at church... slightly in awe of the big, old beautiful church and all the music.
It was then back to Gramma and Grumpy's for the traditional Christmas Eve wild rice soup. We were lucky enough to have everyone home for Christmas this year which was very special!

So excited to open gifts. We had been coaching them all week that they had to hug and kiss and say thank you to everyone who was generous enough to give them a gift. By the end of the two days they were hugging people before they even opened gifts. "I open one more gift, please!" was a common question. Its hard to give them excitement, gratitude and tact all at the same time...
My brothers are notorious for calling my mom from the grocery store and asking for ingredients for my moms recipes. One of my favorite gifts of the season.... my mom wrote out all of our family favorite recipes on note cards for Adam and Stephen. They were both excited.... my mom said that she trusted that the boys would still call her... even if they had their own copy of the recipes.
Christine's Picture Perfect Cherry pie... complete with cherries off of her mom's cherry tree! Delicious.
When we headed home we had to get ready for Santa!
The boys sprinkled the reindeer dust in the front yard so that Rudolph knew where to land.
Nathan sprinkling reindeer dust
Ben yelling at Berkeley to stop eating the reindeer dust.
Ben was all about the "Frosty" cookie plate.
Cookies and carrots for Santa and the reindeer
Christmas Morning... Look Santa ate the cookies and he left us a letter!
Stockings full of fun!
Christmas morning hug for Berkeley
Slinkies are the BEST!
Nathan and Benjamin each got to go shopping for their brother. Nathan gave Benjamin hot wheels cars and Semi Truck to haul/store all the cars. Benjamin picked out a piano for Nathan. It was so cute to watch them give each other these gifts, they were so proud of themselves!
It took us a long time to open gifts Christmas morning because we had to play with each toy as it was opened!
All smiles Christmas morning.
After a fun Christmas morning we headed to the Williams house for Christmas dinner.
Angela and Peter were helping the boys play the piano.
We had a wonderful 5 days of Christmas fun celebrating with the Utechs and the Kassekerts. Thank you to everyone for a fabulous Christmas.
Love always,
The Utechs
